Cheers to the red, white chrome and blue!! This 4th of July nail art look was loosely inspired by the abstract brushwork designs created by SoNailicious on Instagram, but I needed just a touch more structure. Where she used the nail polish brush, I opted to stamp.
This is another gel/polish combination design since I wanted to use Daily Charme Magic White Chrome powder for the first time. I began with 3 coats of Floss Gloss My Gangsta Boo on my thumb and 2 coats of Floss Gloss My Capitan on my ring finger. Then the remaining nails were done with Madam Glam Perfect White gel polish and Gossip No Wipe topcoat.
I used an eyeshadow applicator to rub the white chrome powder onto my index, middle and pinky nails and finished with another coat of gel topcoat.
And then it was time to stamp! Using the same red and blue polishes from Floss Gloss, I stamped all of my nails with a combination of designs from Lina Make Your Mark 01 plate. Check out Jungle Love: Multicolor Stamped Tropical Flowers Nail Art + Video Tutorial to learn about the multi-color stamping technique I used.
For the first time in I don’t know how long, I had an issue with my preferred topcoat (HK Girl from Glisten and Glow) smearing the ultra fine details in these designs. My solution ended up being a previously untried MoYou London Smudge Resistant Topcoat. This is good stuff people! Zero smudging or bleeding.
It wouldn’t be a Nails Of Aquarius design if I didn’t do a touch of embellishing, right? But I really tried hard to stick with the minimalist theme. While the topcoat was still wet, I applied tiny pieces of Daily Charme Gold Foil (the gold leaf type) strategically on all nails.
I added another layer of topcoat to my thumb and ring nails so I could place a Clou Creative Frame Round and Mini Square Open Frame from Daily Charme and a touch of Swarovski Crystals in Clear, Light Siam and Cobalt. And the look was complete!
What do you think? It’s always exciting to hear your feedback when I’ve done something completely different! I hope you’ve enjoyed this look and had a wonderful Independence Day weekend!
