I got some terrible news 17 days into 2017. One of my fur babies, Chance, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was only 8 years old. And 2 1/2 weeks later she was gone. My cats are my children, beloved members of my family, and loosing one of them was just devastating. This design is dedicated to my love, my beautiful sweet girl who will live on forever in my heart.

Design Details

My original plan was to do 3 nails in pink and 2 in white, but I changed my mind after I had polished all my nails and opted variations of pink instead.

So the darker shade on 3 nails is 3 coats of China Glaze Eat, Pink, Be Merry. The lighter shade is 2 coats of Eat, Pink, Be Merry over China Glaze Snow Way!.

I picked this polish for its cool pink shimmer in person that, sadly, did not translate well in the photos.

I chose 2 different heart designs from Lina Nail Supply All About Love 01 plate and stamped using Hit The Bottle Moonshine and my Big Bling from Clear Jelly Stamper.

It was exciting when that stamper and stamping polish combo worked with the shallower etching of this Lina plate!

I used Akzentz Bling On to attach Beaded 5mm Heart Frames and a Love charm from Daily Charme, Swarovski Crystals in Blush Rose and Crystal from Artbeads, and 1mm Gold Bullion beads.

Last I attached the inspiration charm, Kiyoco Miyaji Pink Orchid, to my ring finger. I bought this fun charm a few months back with Valentine’s Day in mind and enjoyed wearing it with and without the pink poof. I love the look of the poof compared to the more-dressed-up chain charm I wore in Charmed I’m Sure: New Years Nail Art with Madam Glam.

I’m learning that grief and creativity don’t work well together. It was really challenging to get my mind to focus on creating a design and nearly as difficult photographing it and writing this post. If not for the holiday, I probably wouldn’t have pushed myself and there will likely be a gap before I post again.

I do hope that you enjoyed this design! As always, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for reading! I’ll see you next time.

  • so sad for your baby. I adopted a cat three years ago and he is really my baby, I can’t imagine my life without him. I know how you feel

Oh, I just started to read the post and I stopped right off. I am sorry for your loss of Chance, such a beautiful girl. I have had and have fur babies and I hope that I can,see them all again some day again. They are a part of our life, family, are precious and provide such unconditional love. I am sending you hugs. Chance is at the Rainbow Bridge now.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words and hugs Carol. The Rainbow Bridge is such a sweet poem that I’ve found comforting. I do hope that we’ll both be able to see our fur babies again. xoxo

  • Such a sweet nail design….I’m so sorry it is made from a spot of such grief. Chance would probably have loved batting that pretty poof around…may she rest in peace. <3 As always, sending you lots of hugs!!

I really like the lighter and darker tones of the same polish and it looks stunning with Moonshine — that stamping polish is so versatile! The charm is of course a beautiful centerpiece!! I am always fascinated with how you combine these elements of bling so perfectly.

    • Thanks so much my friend. You are so right! Chance would have LOVED this cat toy attached to my nails!

Isn’t it funny how a good design can come from laziness? LOL! I didn’t want to take the time to start 2 nails from scratch and ended up with a cool color variation…go figure. Cheers to continuing to fascinate you! xoxo
