Wrap Me Up In Holo: Christmas Nail Art with Cupcake Polish

I'm back today with more firsts. Not only am I showing Cupcake Polish for the first time on the blog but I've also never worn it before. Yes, I've been living under a rock! I've also never done a holiday wrapping paper design. Let's see what I came up with...

Products Used: Cupcake Polish Dream, Cupcake Polish Jubilee, Arti Gold Holographic Snowflake water decals, Amaily Gold Holographic Lines Japanese Nail Stickers

I picked up 3 bottles of Cupcake Polish when they were featured in the Hella Holos Customs Group on Facebook. I liked the swatches so much that I bought a few more bottles on Black Friday. The formula is perfect and the polishes are so pretty that I expect I've ignited a new passion.

These colors are so gorgeous that I couldn't even settle on one picture to show you how I began! I applied 3 coats each of Cupcake Polish Jubilee to my thumb and ring finger and Cupcake Polish Dream to my index, middle and pinky fingers. I followed with a coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat.

I decorated my nails with Arti Gold Holographic Snowflakes from Hologlam Decals and Amaily Gold Holographic Lines Japanese Nail Stickers from Daily Charme. I'm so glad I took a photo of these products before I started since neither was presentable when I was done!

I worked on the Cupcake Polish Dream nails first, applying a snowflake water decal followed by a piece of the holographic lines working on one nail at a time.

The Cupcake Polish Jubilee nails were a little trickier because the lines needed to be angled precisely and spaced evenly. Again I worked on one nail at a time placing a thicker piece of the holographic lines close to the center of my nail. Then I added thinner pieces above and below to make it look similar to my real wrapping paper sample. I finished with another coat of HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat on all nails.

The sun happened to be shining bright on the day I was shooting this design and I couldn't help but get a few pictures in full sun. 😀

This design seems relatively simple to explain but it was time consuming to place the water decals and sticker lines, often more then once. I am really happy with the way it turned out and would readily accept any present wrapped up in all of this holo goodness!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this nail art. I am also curious if you are a fan of Cupcake Polish. If so, feel free to share a photo of your favorite color with your comment below!

Thanks for reading! I'll see you at the next post.
