The Ornaments: Stamped Christmas Nail Art with Pahlish

A Christmas tree just isn't complete without ornaments, right? So I have another #TBT (Throw Back Thursday) design for you today. I created this ornament nail art during the day on Christmas Eve 2015 and it was the design I wore for on Christmas Day. Let's take a look...

Products Used: Pahlish Gingerbread Baker, Pahlish Gumdrop Rooftop, M Polish Carol, M Polish Bronze, MoYou London Festive 17, MoYou London Festive 18, UberChic Christmas 01

I want to let you in on a little secret...I really dislike this nail shape!! Back when I was wearing it I thought it appeared to be more almond shaped. And then I tried stilettos briefly over the summer and gained a whole new perspective on a pointed tip nail. Fortunately there are only a few more #TBT designs I'd like to share that make use of this shape. Thank you for your patience! 😃

I began with 2 coats of Pahlish Gingerbread Baker, half of their December 2015 Duo, on my index, ring and pinky fingers. I applied M Polish Carol, a multi-purpose stamping and nail polish, to my thumb and middle fingers. Then I gave each nail a healthy coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat.

Next I applied the glitter topper from the December 2015 Duo, Pahlish Gumdrop Rooftop, over Gingerbread Baker. It's multicolored flakies, holographic shimmer and iridescent glitters remind me of the sparkle and shimmer of a fully decorated Christmas tree.

I applied a string of ornaments vinyl from KBShimmer's Holiday Themed Vinyl Sheet to my thumb and middle finger, polished the nail with Gingerbread Baker and quickly removed the vinyls using care to maintain the design. Then each nail got another coat of HK Girl and some drying time before I began to stamp.

I opted to stamp the hard part first. You may recall that Clear Jelly Stampers did not yet exist in 2015, so centering 'A Very Merry Christmas' from UberChic Christmas 01 took some time, skill and a touch of aggravation.

You're going to laugh because I'm usually pretty organized but I didn't take the best notes on the products I used for this design. I spent HOURS trying to figure out which plates I used on the Gumdrop Rooftop nails. I just discovered that I stamped with M Polish Bronze and MoYou London Festive 17 on my index and pinky and Festive 18 on my ring finger. Phew!!

I love seeing purple holiday nail art! Maybe because it's my favorite color or because it's a nontraditional but welcome surprise. I'd love to hear your thoughts on my ornaments! Also, what do you think about using purple in holiday nails?

Thanks for reading! I'll see you at the next post.
