Hi there! I have my last Fall nail art design for you today before I switch gears to BCA and, of course, Halloween. My inspiration came from a new-to-me indie polish brand, and I also had the opportunity to use several new-to-me products during the creation.
In yesterday's edition of The Swatch Watch I shared a luscious caramel brown polish with gold and copper flakies. It is a very unique polish in my opinion and a clear standout from the other brown polishes I purchased this Fall. I just knew I had to use it in a nail art design!
I began with 3 coats of Pahlish Drawing Number One on my index, middle and pinky fingers. I was lucky enough to find the perfect accent polish in my Pahlish stash! Pahlish Fields of Gold was an A Box, Indied Exclusive in March 2015. It's a warm gold metallic with gold and bronze flakies and holographic sparkles. I applied 2 coats to my thumb and ring finger and finished all of my nails with HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat.
I have been collecting UberChic Beauty stamping plates since the brand launched. I have all of the sets and several of the one-off plates, but somehow this is my first time using them and their debut on my blog. I had several different leaf designs to chose from, but settled on 2 from the 5-02 plate. First I stamped the very detailed, single leaf design on my thumb and ring finger using Mundo de Unas Cafe.
I've mentioned in my Stamping 101 posts that sometimes you need to use a different stamper and/or scraper to get the best results with various plates. And that was the case for me with this UberChic plate and a few of their others that I tested. I got the best results using my new MoYou London Transparent, Non-Sticky, XL Marshmallow Stamper in conjunction with a fairly flexible credit card type scraper I received in a Messy Mansion Accessories Kit.
This was a pretty big deviation from my beloved XL Squishy Stamper from eBay in the black holder and my hard plastic pink Konad scraper. Interestingly enough though, the XL Non-Sticky Stamper Set that UberChic sells looks and sounds a lot like the product combination I ended up using.
Next I stamped my index and pinky fingers with a mixed leaf design from the same plate. I used a combination of Mundo de Unas Bronze, Copper and Gold placed strategically on the leaves (as shown in my Multicolor Stamping Technique), but I scraped in a way to allow the colors to blend together some.
Basecoat and Topcoat: Orly Bonder and HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat
Polish: Pahlish Drawing Number One
Accent polish: Pahlish Fields Of Gold
Stamping plate: UberChic 5-02
Stamping polishes: Mundo de Unas Cafe (22), Copper (41), Gold (17) and Bronze (19)
Embellishments: Born Pretty Store Leaf Charm
I hope you enjoyed this Fall nail art design! It took some extra time to find the magic combination of tools to make these plates purr, but I really love the end result. As always, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for reading! I'll see you at the next post.
