Happy St. Patrick's Day with Serum No 5

I hope everyone had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day yesterday and got your fill of corned beef and cabbage and green beer. I am not even a little bit Irish or a fan of green, but I decided to give it a try this year. So you are about to see my 1st St. Patty's nail art design EVER!

Serum No 5 March 2015, Serum No 5 Pure Glow Getter, MoYou London Festive 21, Messy Mansion MM04

I had stocked up to do more than one design for this holiday, but circumstances changed and I decided I would just wear this gorgeous green polish from Serum No. 5 called March 2015 that I reviewed earlier. But suddenly I was wide awake at midnight on the 16th and the nail artist in me was no longer happy with our decision. So we worked on this design until 3AM.

Serum No 5 March 2015, Serum No 5 Pure Glow Getter
I began with 2 coats of Serum No. 5 March 2015 on my thumb, middle and ring fingers and 2 coats of their Pure Glow Getter on my remaining fingers over a base of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter A-Peel. I applied 2 coats of HK Girl Topcoat over the green and 1 coats over the white. Then jumped back into bed to watch half of "Secrets and Lies" (ah, Ryan Phillipe) on Tivo while my nails dried before the next step.

Next it was time to refresh my stamping skills since I haven't stamped in nearly a month. Where does the time go??? There were a bunch of steps and I hope the bullets will make for easier reading.

  • First I used the row of clovers design from Messy Mansion's MM04 and stamped it twice across my thumb and once down my middle finger using Mundo de Unas Dark Green (7)

  • Then I used the large and small clover full nail designs from MoYou London's Festive 21 to stamp my index and pinky fingers respectively with Mundo de Unas Spring Green (56). I topped them with a coat of HK Girl Topcoat and allowed it to dry before the next step

  • Finally I used the single clover design on the same MoYou London plate to double stamp my index and pinky fingers using Mundo de Unas Green (8)

Of course no Karolyn nail art design is complete without a little bling so I applied this cool clover charm from Bundle Monster with topcoat. By then it was late, I was delirious and got a bit snap happy with the camera. Surprisingly enough the photos looked pretty good by the light of day so here they are:

I saved the best for last. Both of these colors glow in the dark (GITD) amazingly well! Since I had included a GITD photo of March 2015 in my review for it I decided to use Pure Glow Getter for this photo. WOW, did they name that polish right or what? It's glowing so bright that the print on the bottle is crisp!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on my midnight mani! It was nice to do a simpler design, by my standards that is, because it is really exhausting trying to outdo myself all the time. I was happy this design turned out as well considering the time of night and I think the GITD shot is too cool! What was on your nails for St. Patty's Day? I'd love to see! Feel free to share a photo with your comment.

And it just so happens that my favorite blogger group on Facebook, Hobby Polish Bloggers, and my N.A.I.L Group (Nail Art Ideas Linkup) are both having a linkup for the holiday, so be sure to scroll down and see all of the wonderful creations!

Thanks for reading! I'll see you at the next post.

  3. Best comment EVER my friend Sumeet! I saw it on my phone before I went to sleep last night and was still chucking when I woke up this morning! I hope no one is offended by my words. I have done some over-the-top stuff lately that I haven't even had time to post. So this one was "simpler" in that it was done & photographed in 3 hours. I can't remember the last time that happened! <3
