Nail News! MoYou London ZODIAC Collection Update!

My fellow Aquarius ladies our MoYou London plate has come! They actually released it yesterday and I apologize that I didn’t have a moment to blog about it. Let’s take a look!

MoYou London Zodiac Collection plate 01 Aquarius

Luna says this plate is for all the adventurous, curious, friendly, loyal, humanitarian, broad-minded, creative, intelligent, unpredictable, rebellious… AQUARIUS stamping girls! Personally I would add a few more adjectives, but I think Luna did OK.

So here it is. Water water everywhere. I do like the use of positive and negative designs and there’s a few cool interpretations of our zodiac symbol that will look great in nail art. Aside from that I’m feeling a little meh about it. And what’s up with the birds, branches and weird clouds?? I am not really sure what I was expecting, and I am really good at setting my expectations too high and ending up disappointed. But I look back on other plates, like Virgo for example where I saw so many aspects of my Mom represented, and we’ve been reduced to simply the water bearer.

I really hope someone will comment and help me see this plate in a different light. Will I end up buying it? Yeah, probably because I really wanted to do an Aquarius design using my symbol to represent the blog. Was I hoping for something more? Absolutely.

This plate is available now and retails for £4.99 (approximately $8.50). You can purchase it directly from MoYou London.

Thanks for reading! I’ll see you at the next post.
  • Thank you and happy early birthday!!! I can't wait to see it! I hope you get ideas from you..I wanted to do a birthday manicure but was completely stuck on what to do 🙁

  • LOL! That's exactly my problem! I figure short of numbering the tapes as I apply them there is no hope for me! I do better with vinyls, but even then have to limit myself to 3-4 per nail before I get confused. 🙂

  • Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU Monica! So every 7 years the party is a given! 🙂 I am not sure if they plan to do more Zodiac plates or if it's just a one and done collection. I'll make a note to ask. My birthday is the 17th. I'm hoping the plate will get here in time for a birthday mani! <3

  • I'll probably buy it anyways because of the novelty value…do you know if they are planning on expanding past one plate for each sign? Maybe they might do better with the next set!

It's actually today! I don't usually do a whole lot of my birthday…and unfortunately it lands on SuperBowl Sunday every seven years, hah! When is yours? 🙂

  • I wish I could do a good tape manicure! I always fall into the trap of forgetting which stripe I put down first, pull up everything and end up with a "fail"…hah!

  • Anytime Monica! I am envious of you ladies that can do cool things with tape! I always end up with a gooey mess. For you it makes no sense, but I'm going to enjoy these plates! <3

  • I didn't know you were a fellow Aquarius! Too cool! It's good to hear my water bearer readers agree that they didn't hit the mark with this plate. I'll try to do it justice…we'll see. What day is your birthday?

  • Thanks for the review/information. I think I am going to skip out on this collection..I own striping tape and while I definitely cannot make designs look as crisp at these stamps it seems like a waste to buy the stamps when I can certainly try the tapes!

  • I am so excited for this plate because I am an Aquarius as well! But yeah, I completely agree I don't feel like the plate represents our personalities properly…not to mention I hate getting wet. LOL

  • Thanks sweetie!! I need all the support I can get! <3

If anyone can do it, YOU can!!! <3 <3

  • Your are absolutely right my new friend Cat! I ordered it on Friday along with 2 of the new Holy Shapes. Somehow this plate is going to make a design worthy of representing this blog! <3

Hi Karolyn, I do like all the different waves and clouds on the plate (coming from a Capricorn). You just gotta' have this plate if you're an Aquarius, even if it isn't the absolute best interpretation of your sign!

  • The Nail Smith (Millie)

Lol I finally found the magical length for my nails where they don't break and that size just so happens to coincide perfectly for MoYou stamping ^_^ And yeah, not so much restraint as "Wow, I'm broke" lolol but I'm anxiously awaiting 4 new plates so YAY!!!

  • Happy Birthday to you too!

  • I'm jealous that the Regular size plates work for you!! And I admire your restraint. I totally agree about coordinating #4 with my Artist plate which is why I ordered it. I needed to get my Zodiac plate and figured I should may it worthwhile now that Free Shipping is gone again so I bought #2 as well. 🙂

  • The Nail Smith (Millie)

I think I'm leaning towards #3, since I can see it coordinating really well with my Artist plate and I think it'd be really neat for an art deco look 🙂 But I think I'll put it on the back burner for now, since I just placed an order with MoYou last week hahaha

  • I'm a Cancer and I can't wait for MY plate. =)

  • They sure do Millie! I saw you were excited about these on MoYou's page. Which plates did you like best? <3

  • Me too Diana! And I am off to a really good start for having all of the MoYou! Love them!! Big hugs to you too sweetie! <3

  • You get an A+ for trying to sell me on this plate my dear friend! 🙂 I ordered it the other day, so time will tell if your theory pays off. At a minimum, I had to have it for the Aquarius symbol because I don't have that design yet. <3

  • Phew, I am not standing alone in my disappointment. I was starting to think I was loosing it, so thanks for saving me Sarah! I would have liked to see more of the "adventurous, curious, creative and rebellious". Happy Birthday to you! <3

  • I'm glad you like it Francine! What is your sign? <3

  • OK, we've discussed this plate already, but now I've come back and zoomed in on the plate image really studying it. At first, I do agree it is lacking in some of the Aquarius motifs it could have had. But – I had a thought as I was admiring the madala like image in the center and some of the other more generic type images that you mentioned, the birds etc, and I thought maybe the idea of having this plate is to celebrate your sign not just during its season – but all year long….I guess what I mean is, if you do decide to buy it – I bet you'll get uses out of it that you hadn't planned on (even though you won't get some that you did….)?…does that help? 🙂

  • I'm glad I'm not the only Aquarius disappointed with this plate! I really can't get excited about any aspect of this plate, which is shame because I've loved some of the other zodiac plates!

  • It's beautiful! I would be an Aquarius Lady just for this plate!

  • The Nail Smith (Millie)

Karolyn, I TOTALLY agree with you on two points you made: that these seem very inspired by taping/vinyl designs, and that plates #3 and #4 are very reminiscent of Artist #17! Great minds think alike ;-D lol

I need it, need every stamping plate hahahaha. Big hug
