Karolyn, "Porco Rosso" is lovely and complex. I'm pretty much adoring it. Those of us, no matter what field we're in, who enjoy color and everything it brings to our lives, will no doubt have fun playing around with the various interpretations of Marsala. Last year I had a lot of creative storms and did a Radiant Orchid mani once a month. I'd like to do that again with Marsala and it looks like I now have two great polishes to start me off! Thanks so much for directing me to your previous post!

  • Good news Cat! "Porco Rosso" is already posted! See my "Literary Lacquers 2014 Cummunity Collection & I Heard The Bells: Swatches, Review and Nail Art" post from earlier this month. I would love to hear what you think of it after you read my review! And I agree with you. It didn't sound like the ideal choice for nails at first, but I think the brands are going to come up with some lovely polishes! Here's a sneak peek!

Ooh, I can't wait to see Porco Rosso! Thanks for your thoughtful reply! For me personally, the color Marsala is *growing* on me… I think at least in the nail polish world, some pretty versions of it will be coming out.

  • Hi there Cat! Pantone definitely made an interesting choice for 2015, IMHO. I think they consider home decorating and makeup more so than nail polish when they select these colors. At first I wasn't sure it would work. And then I had the opportunity to review a version from Literary Lacquers (Porco Rosso) recently and it changed my mind. Gorgeous and very becoming on any skin tone! I wish I had a bottle of this KBShimmer to review for you now, but I promise I will just as soon as I can! HTH!

Karolyn, I'd love to know your opinion on the 2015 choice from Pantone! KBShimmer certainly has made a beautiful version of "Marsala" — it looks so much nicer in their press release than any other source I've seen showing it so far.
