OK, I’ve been very bad this week. It’s Friday morning and I am just writing my MoYou London post about their weekly release that should have been done on Wednesday. I’m sorry! In my defense, I have been working around the clock (literally!) on holiday nail art ideas for you and they all feature MoYou London plates. There is another new collection for us this week! Shall we take a look?
This week they are launching the GEEK Collection with a new mascot named Siri. Sound familiar Apple users?? “She’s not anti-social, she’s just not user friendly…”
There will be 4 new plates launching, well, today. Two of them are the “compilation” style I named them last week, 1 is Regular size (1.5cm x 1.2cm) and 1 XL size (2.0cm x 1.5cm). I’ll tell you that with 20+ years working in Information Technology I thought I would feel more of a connection to this collection. But MoYou London knows their customers and I am sure there will be a fan base for these plates, just like every other collection that has made them so successful.
The first compilation style plate is loaded with cute cartoon emoticons using text shorthand. Embarrassingly enough I don’t know what some of them mean! I’ll be Googling later.
The second compilation plate is full of computer emoticons or ASCII art. I don’t think I’ll ever cease to be baffled by these or the time that must go into creating them! Should I be concerned that I could stare at them indefinitely at still not understand the “artist’s” intent in most cases?
The Regular size plate finally has some images I can relate to…WiFi signals, circuits, power cords, cable connectors, binary, flow charts. My goodness there is even a little floppy disc! Now I’ve dated myself. This is my kind of Geek, but not necessarily my kind of nail art.
And finally the XL plate contains larger versions of 12 of the designs you saw of the 03 plate above.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this new collection! I’ll admit that I am a little curious to hear from someone who loves these plates and learn how they plan to use them.
These plates will be released on Friday, December 19th, and retail for £4.99 (approximately $8.50). They can be purchased directly from MoYou London.
Thanks for reading! I’ll see you at the next post.
