Hello Fellow Stampers! MoYou London has yet another new collection for us this week! I was expecting a few Halloween plates to be added to the Festive Collection. But they went in a different direction and created a Gothic Collection instead. Fine by me! Let's take a look!
With every new collection comes a new mascot so allow me to introduce you.
Meet Raven > Black in her favorite color. (Oh I'm liking her already!!!)
"Though I know I should be wary,
Still I venture someplace scary,
Ghostly huntings I turn loose,
Beetlejuice, Beatlejuice, Beatlejuice
There will be 4 new plates this week: 1 Collage style, 1 with many smaller designs (like The Kitty Collection) and 2 XL size (2.0cm x 1.5cm). I must say I am surprised there are no Regular size plates. Perhaps there will be another release in the near future!
If you are looking to add a MoYou London Halloween plate to your collection this one has potential. You've got your spider in a web, tombstones, bats, cats and pumpkins. I am not quite sure about those characters in the merry-go-round looking design, but otherwise I like this plate.
There's lots of things happening on this plate. I like the variety of crosses and they appear to be larger than the designs on the plates in the Kitty Collection, which is a plus for my nails. I am not sure if there is any symbolism to them, but I also like the designs on the bottom row of the plate.
I am betting the consensus will be that the designs on this plate aren't all that original or unique. But there are lace designs on it and I'm an addict, so of course I am going to like it. I also like the crosses and it looks like they weren't made to full width, which is a good thing because they would have been too big. The 4th design in the top row is calling to me!
I'll apply what I said above to this plate as well. I feel as though I've seen some of these designs elsewhere. But I do like the tree, crow on the fence and the creepy hands playing with the spider.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this new collection. I'm kind of on the fence (up there with that crow) about it. But I was new to stamping this time last year and borrowed plates from a friend to do my Halloween manicure. I think I'll paw through my collection first and then decide.
These plates will be available on Friday, September 26th, and retail for £4.99 (approximately $8.50 depending on the exchange rate). You can purchase them directly from MoYou London. Shipping is still free for orders over £15!
Thanks for reading! I'll see you at the next post.
