Jungle Love: Multicolor Stamped Tropical Flowers Nail Art + Video Tutorial

Hello Nail Artists! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! Today I would like to share a fun design that is not only double stamped, but stamped using multiple colors in a single design. My inspiration came from one of my nail art groups and their recent challenge theme "stamping over a striped background".

Dance Legend Inhale Dance Legend Just Another Star, Liquid Sky Lacquer Trick or Treat, Mundo de Unas

I've done double stamped designs using straight stripes in the background a few times now so I decided to go in a different direction with this nail art. I chose to use animal stripes, tiger to be more specific, and I thought they would look great with some multicolored tropical flowers and leaves over them.

My love affair with Dance Legend's WOW Prism Collection continues! I chose Inhale #35 for my thumb and pinky and Just Another Star #30 for the remaining fingernails. I am wearing 2 coats of polish and HK Girl's Fast Drying Topcoat for these photos.

For the background I used the tiger stripe design from MoYou London's Pro 04 XL plate and stamped it on using Mundo de Unas Violet.

I chose 2 different hibiscus flower designs from MoYou London's Tropical Collection 02 plate and stamped them using Mundo de Unas polishes in Green, Avocado, Mexican Pink, Pastel Yellow and Orange. There's a short video tutorial below for creating this multicolored stamped look.

I finished the design with a glitter gradient on my thumb and pinky using Liquid Sky Lacquer's Trick or Treat. This glitter bomb was really easy to work with and loaded with vibrant color hex glitters that coordinated so well with the design.

Here's the tutorial I mentioned earlier. If you enjoy it I hope you will consider subscribing to my YouTube Channel. I am just getting started on there now that I have upgraded my camera for HD capability and plan to add new content often.

Photo of all the products I used Product Recap:
Basecoat & Topcoat: Picture Polish Revolution and HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat
Base Polishes: Dance Legend Just Another Star and Inhale
Accent polish: Liquid Sky Lacquer Trick or Treat
Stamping plates: MoYou London Tropical Collection 02 and Pro 04 XL
Stamping polishes: Mundo de Unas Violet, Green, Avocado, Mexican Pink, Pastel Yellow and Orange

Jungle Love macro photo
The last photo I have to share with you is this cool macro Photoshop made for me. I learned how to create these by accident in my last post when I clicked on 'Divide Scanned Image'  instead of Resize. This time I did it on purpose because these are the cheesy things we do when we can't afford the macro lens we want just quite yet. :)

In case you missed it last time, I'd like to share a tip for Mundo de Unas users again since I used lots of it in this design. Use NON-ACETONE nail polish remover and a small brush or Q-tip to clean off the excess polish around your nails. I had been using pure acetone and still having the hardest time trying to scrub away the excess. With this tip it comes off so easily!

I hope you enjoyed this nail art design and I would love to hear your thoughts! It came out exactly as I envisioned it, which doesn't happen nearly enough, and it makes me happy just looking at it.

By the way, the name change project is officially completed! We are, and always will be (says Facebook), Nails Of Aquarius! I am so happy to have that behind me and I want to thank all of you so much for sticking with me!

  4. Lovely design, Karolyn! Love the way you apply all those colours on the plate <3 BTW, does Inhale stain your nails? I've only worn it once and it stained quite badly!

  5. Thanks Cassis! I'm so glad you liked it! It was fun getting all of the colors on that little design, but I like a challenge! No, I had no problems at all with Inhale staining, and I had this design on for a few days. I used Picture Polish Revolution under it because I knew I'd be topping with glitter. Perhaps try that if you have it in your stash? Sorry it stained yours nails so badly!

  13. Hi Em! I am thrilled that you found my post helpful! I don't have a design prepared for AiS today, so I would be honored is you posted one based on my design! I'll be there inn spirit. BTW, I used the same technique with MoYou London stamping polishes in my New Year's nails and it worked great. More Dance Legends are always recommended!! <3

  14. I did do things a little differently as I didn't have a plate that was quite what I wanted, so I stamped each coloured image individually and, while it's nowhere near as polishds as yours, for my first attempt at multiple colours and multiple stamping I am super pleased.

Thanks again for the wonderful inspiration and your kind encouragement :)

  15. Thank you so much for sharing a photo! I was going to ask you to if you hadn't because I was so excited to see it. Your design is GORGEOUS!! You did a FABULOUS JOB and I never would have guessed it was your 1st time with any of these techniques! I bet you got amazing feedback on AiS! I'll try to set aside some time to find it there now that I know what I am looking for. <3
