Pretty In Pink: Mom’s Skittlette Nail Art Design

Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a nice weekend and all you Mommy’s out there had an extra special day yesterday. My fur babies neglected to get me anything, but they were sure to provide lots of cuddling and unconditional love. Today I thought I would share the nail art I did on my Mom’s nails for Mother’s Day. She was pretty specific about what she wanted: pink polish, roses and some bling. Mission accomplished!

Basecoat/Topcoat: Nailtiques Formula 2 and Seche Vite
Base color: Julep Jules
Stamping plate: MoYou London Pro 10 XL
Stamping polish: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Presto Pink
Embellishments: Gold studs and caviar beads from Sally Beauty, pearls from Born Pretty Store

We started with two coats of Jules followed by a healthy coat of Seche Vite. I received Jules in my last Maven box and it was the perfect nearly nude pink for this design. The formula was good and completely opaque in two coats. Once dry, I stamped her middle and ring finger with a rose image from Pro 10 XL using Presto Pink. I stamped a coordinating rose image from the same plate on her thumb. Then I mixed up some gold glitter and topcoat and randomly dotted it on to the stamped fingers. No manicure is complete without some bling, so I finished up by adding the gold studs, pearls and caviar beads.

What do you think? Mom LOVED it and couldn’t wait for her girlfriends to see it. She’s been getting nail art on her toes for years now, but it took me a little while to talk her into nail art on her fingers. We started at Christmas with a single stamped finger on each hand and we’ve really come a long way! I’m happy when she’s happy and I think this came out great.

And here’s Mom and I heading out to celebrate her last birthday. Love you Mom!

I hope you enjoyed this nail art design! I apologize for not having pictures of each step of this design. I’m sure you can appreciate the challenge of asking a guest to stick their nails in the light box repeatedly, LOL. I’ll see you at the next post.
