A Mother’s Loves: Quad Stamped Skittle Design

Hello nail artists! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today I am sharing a manicure created to celebrate my Mom and best friend on Mother’s Day with a few of her favorite things. Purple and pink; sparkly jewelry, gems and pearls; girly textures; and gorgeous roses fresh from her garden. My Nail Update group on Facebook and the Nailpolis Museum are both having Mother’s Day nail art challenges and I plan to enter this design.

I started by polishing my thumb and middle fingers with two coats of Do You Lilac It?, my index and pinky fingers with three coats of Rumple’s Wiggin’, and my ring finger with 3 coats of Pussy Galore.
I surprised myself a little by coming back to my Messy Mansion MM07 plate so soon, having just used it for “Every Rose Has Its Thorn“. If you have been collecting stamping plates for any amount of time you’ll agree that you have TONS of choices when it comes to roses. But I picked this plate because it offered them in various sizes to fit all of my nails perfectly. Everyone should own this plate!

First I stamped the stripes and dots from MoYou Pro 01 using Mundo de Unas Lilac and White stamping polishes.

Then I added the remaining three layers of stamps using the Messy Mansion plate. First I used a portion of the leaf image, then stamped a rose in deeper pink to give it some depth, and finally stamped the rose again in a lighter pink. I apologize for the color and quality of these images. They were taken in my work area instead of the light box. It won’t happen again!

My thumb is a little different, with two larger roses in cream and light pink.

I had fun embellishing my ring finger! I started with the gold rose from Daily Charme. Then added two 4mm Swarovski crystals in purple and pink and two 3mm clear crystals. Two pearls in 2mm and 3mm sizes completed the look.
Completed manicure on both hands.

I’d love to hear what you think of this design. I liked it enough to do both hands and I’ll be sad to take it off. Every time I look at my nails I think of my Mom and smile. And she loved it by the way!

I hope you enjoyed this nail art design! I’ll see you at the next post.
